“Once they experience our work, our clients love us”
I bet you’ve said this before.
The challenge is getting clients to take that first step.
Especially as trust is lower than ever (AI, people gaming the algorithms, etc), clients can get quite squeamish about opening their wallet.
They’ll have no trouble asking you infinite questions in a somewhat sneaky attempt at getting your expertise for free. Most times, this is not out of malice, but fear.
Fear of being tricked, fear of not being able to get results, fear of feeling like a fraud after a failed project.
You can design a service to dismantle these fears and open the door to more work together.
Just don’t make it another diagnosis.
A trifecta of Trust
It’s not that a diagnosis is a bad idea.
It’s just that very few people want to pay for a list of problems. Also, if you’re the one peddling the solutions, the diagnosis comes across as biased. Which hurts trust.
A mini-intro service that hits the mark builds Trust on 3 fronts:
- It proves that you know your stuff
- It proves that you can apply that to actually help your clients
- It proves that your expertise can transform their business in a 10x sort-of-way
I help consulting firms and agencies create these services faster, better and safer than if they’d do it on their own (success rates for internal DIY projects are sobering).
All premium products are aspirational
All this trust building, paired with technical excellence and unassailable value add plants prickly question on your best client’s minds:
“What else can these people do for me?”
The best mini-intro services have some things in common:
- They highlight the depth of your expertise
- They are outcome-oriented and as short as possible
- They frame the interaction so that clients can see what’s the next thing you can help with.
My process has been honed by more than a decade of work in converting the deep expertise of my clients into tangible experiences.
We always begin by mining your past engagements for the bits that your clients loved the most. From there, we connect it to your other offerings and we set the stage for a quick, highly-valuable and strategic service that spearheads the rest of your relationship with that client.
Then your team and I design the service, create the necessary structure and build up the muscle to run it. If you want to be technical about it, the end result will be workshop shaped.
2 Covenants
If it makes sense that we work together, I can promise you this:
- We will do it together. Turning deep expertise into services is not something one can fully delegate.
- You will have a working service that your clients can’t wait to buy from you.
